Overview

Rajini Murugan Tea Stall, nestled at 23, Jalan Tengku Kelana in the heart of Klang, Malaysia, offers a vibrant slice of South Indian cafe culture. This charming spot is more than just a place to grab tea—it’s an experience reminiscent of Chennai’s lively street eats with outdoor high tables that invite patrons to stand, chat, and feast on the go. The ambiance captures the essence of traditional South Indian dining while delivering a comfortable, welcoming space perfect for casual meetups or a quick, flavorful meal.

The main draw here is undoubtedly their biryanis and classic breakfast staples. Customers rave about the simplicity and authenticity of the mutton, chicken, and egg biryanis, all praised for their balanced spices and generous portions. A notable highlight is how the flavors appeal across generations, with even young children enjoying the mildly spiced dishes. Besides biryani, paal appam steals the show as a delightful, creamy treat loved by many. Their signature Rajini Murugan tea stands out—lightly sweetened with fresh cow’s milk, it offers a smooth, refreshing break from the tropical Klang heat.

The space itself has recently undergone renovations, blending a cozy vibe with cleanliness and efficiency. It creates an inviting atmosphere for evening tea sessions paired with freshly made snacks like bun butter jam and masala dosai. Guests appreciate the attentive, friendly staff and quick service, although there is room for improvement in upstairs order management. A simple calling bell system could enhance customer convenience, especially during busy hours.

Rajini Murugan Tea Stall attracts a broad audience—from families looking for comforting home-style meals to solo diners seeking flavorful brunches and those craving authentic South Indian teas. The communal standing tables foster a casual, sociable environment, making it an ideal stop for a quick bite or a relaxed tea break. With its blend of authentic flavors, warm hospitality, and an inviting setup, this cafe is a must-visit for anyone yearning for genuine South Indian fare in Klang.

This shop was done with an interesting concept. There were high tables to stand and eat outside of the shop just like like a Chennai feel (Eat on the go). We had mutton biryani (5/5), chicken biryani (5/5) and egg biryani (5/5) and it was all tasted good. No doubt is was a simple biryani but tasty and the portion was just nice. My 4 years old son almost finished the mutton biryani (rice) himself as it tasted so good, little spice for him but he enjoyed. My daughter's all time favourite is paal appam, she ordered that and finished her paal appam. It was tasty too. 5/5 We enjoyed the Rajini Murugan tea, not sweet with fresh vow milk. No wait as we went early for lunch. The staffs are friendly and very attentive. Only one negative point is, there are no staff to monitor the customers at the top floor when we need to order extra. The north indian girl, who cleans the place didn't help to call the staff from down even after we request her to get someone. I went down myself to call the staff for order. They should keep a calling bell for the top floor costumers. All the snacks was hot and freshly done when it's early. We didn't try any of it but the snacks and cakes looked interesting. Will try that one day. Value for money

I was a bit blur when ordering and forgot to mention less sugar, but the team was friendly and patient throughout. Overall, a pleasant experience but only 1 thing coming to masjid india hard to find parking.. better come using public transport...

I had a great experience enjoying filter coffee here during tea time on a beautiful evening. The place is quite popular, with many people lining up for meals. I really appreciate the unique concept—standing and sipping drinks while chatting with friends adds to the charm.
